Although the club lost in their first Super League playoff match against Hull FC, Karl has overseen a transformation of their fortunes since taking over, including acquiring major front of shirt sponsors, Hoover, rising gates, a growth in community presence, and a profile that belies their status as a second-tier sport in a football region.
