Shrewsbury Town: Supporters’ Parliament Open Meetings
Key Insights:
- Devolving dialogue is a good example of bringing dialogue closer to fans
- It’s also a good way of prioritising issues and ‘horizon scanning’ – identifying issues or problems in advance
Ensuring that fan representatives truly speak for those they’re meant to is a central issue for all fans parliaments and similar bodies used to represent the interests of fans.
Shrewsbury Town’s supporters’ parliament host open meetings, in advance of their meetings with the club, to source views and opinions from fans.
This is a really good example of how to devolve Fan Engagement, and we’d advise all clubs to consider similar measures where they have a Fans Parliament-type structure in place.
